The MELIORA consortium gathered in Dubrovnik, Croatia, on 27–28 May 2026 for the project’s 3rd Consortium Meeting, bringing together partners from across Europe to review progress, exchange implementation experiences, and coordinate the next phase of activities.
Over the two-day meeting, partners discussed developments across the project’s technical, clinical, scientific, communication, and policy-related work.
Sessions focused on the implementation of the MELIORA randomised-controlled studies across Greece, Lithuania, Spain, and Sweden, including recruitment progress, participant engagement, implementation challenges, and strategies to support inclusivity across different population groups and local contexts.
Consortium partners also reviewed updates related to the MELIORA Virtual Coach and associated digital tools, including app usability, explainability features, artificial intelligence-supported personalisation mechanisms, and ongoing technical refinements.
Additional discussions addressed ethics and governance, dissemination and communication activities, scientific publications, scalability assessment methodologies, reporting activities, and collaboration within the ‘Prevention and Early Detection – Behavioural Change’ cluster under the EU Mission on Cancer.
The meeting also provided an opportunity to reflect on lessons learned so far and discuss the next steps for strengthening the project’s long-term impact, sustainability, and accessibility.
The consortium meeting reinforced the collaborative nature of MELIORA and the shared commitment of partners to advancing evidence-based, citizen-centred and sustainable approaches to breast cancer prevention through digital innovation and behavioural support.
A sincere thank you to all consortium partners, researchers, healthcare professionals, patient organisations, technical teams, advisory board members, and stakeholders contributing to the project’s ongoing work and helping advance more accessible, inclusive and sustainable approaches to breast cancer prevention across Europe.
