Find out more about the work Packages
The 9 Work Packages of the project will bring together various and complementary expertise from consortium partners.
Ethics Requirements
Work Package 1 focuses on establishing and ensuring compliance with ‘ethics requirements’ to uphold ethical standards throughout the project.
Project Management & Coordination
Work Package 2 focuses on effectively managing and coordinating the project. This encompasses overseeing administration, facilitating efficient communication with both the European Commission and Consortium, ensuring robust financial and legal structures, and implementing a rigorous quality assurance and risk management process to enhance effectiveness.
Stakeholder Engagement, Situation Analysis and Implementation Strategies
Work Package 3 works on implementing MELIORA Virtual Coach Interventions successfully in intervention countries (Greece, Lithuania, Spain, Sweden) through a comprehensive approach. Key objectives include synthesising existing knowledge, understanding contextual factors and health needs through participatory research, establishing Stakeholder and Policy Advisory Boards (SPABs), conducting context analysis, and synthesising data for evidence-based strategies. This ensures interventions are evidence-based, culturally sensitive, and responsive to specific needs in Greece, Lithuania, Spain, and Sweden.
Adaptation Plan and Material for Rolling out the MELIORA Virtual Coach Interventions
The main goal of Work Package 4 is to develop and adapt materials and resources, including training materials, user manuals, and instructional videos, for use in the MELIORA Virtual Coach Interventions (VCI). Additionally, the work package aims to design an adaptation plan that supports the effective and sustainable rollout of MELIORA interventions, outlining steps and procedures for adaptation to different settings and populations. It involves defining the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the MELIORA interventions and ensuring their development and adaptation consider the diverse local settings, populations, and needs in each implementation country.
Technical Development of the MELIORA Virtual Coach Interventions and Digital Tools
Work Package 5 is dedicated to several critical tasks for the success of MELIORA Virtual Coach Interventions (VCI). Firstly, it involves the design and development of digital tools for the VCI. Additionally, it focuses on the development and implementation of AI algorithms and machine learning models to personalise the MELIORA VCIs, enhancing their overall effectiveness. Integration of digital tools, including wearable devices, is a key aspect, enabling the monitoring and tracking of participants’ progress with feedback mechanisms. The final step includes rigorous testing and validation in a Lab Integration Test to ensure the usability, functionality, and overall effectiveness of the digital tools in delivering the interventions.
Development of the Tools for the Evaluation of the MELIORA Virtual Coach Interventions
Work Package 6 develops tools to evaluate MELIORA’s process and outcomes, considering project development, intervention impacts, and future potential. The analysis includes dimensions like adoption, efficiency, effectiveness, and cost-effectiveness (pre-commercial and post-treatment). The work package also integrates inputs, outputs, outcomes, and impact measurements collaboratively with user-centred, co-designed actions in other work packages. It additionally contributes to post-project visions, creating an exploitation plan for maximum impact across innovation tracks, socio-economic environments, and the Active and Healthy Ageing (AHA) fields, while evaluating the achieved impact.
Implementation and evaluation of the MELIORA Virtual Coach Interventions
The main objectives of Work Package 7 encompass both implementation and evaluation. Implementation targets diverse participant recruitment, adherence to SOPs, and ethical monitoring. It involves collecting and analysing engagement and behaviour change data. Evaluation focuses on scientifically assessing intervention outcomes, estimating cost-effectiveness, and conducting a budget impact analysis. External experts and stakeholders assess the scalability potential across all MELIORA implementation countries.
Recommendations & Dissemination
Work Package 8 enhances project visibility by engaging diverse stakeholders through personalised messages. It works towards establishing robust communication and dissemination strategies, developing MELIORA’s exploitation strategies, managing intellectual property rights (IPR), and ensuring synergy with relevant European Projects, Clusters, and initiatives, maintaining a lasting influence beyond project completion.
